Buffalo Soldiers Celebrate with Community Event at Wilson
Park
The Toledo Buffalo Soldiers celebrated National Buffalo
Soldier day this past Saturday with a special event at
Wilson Park 3251 Otto St. Toledo, OH. This celebration
marked the 27th anniversary of the proclamation declaring
July 28 National Buffalo Soldier Day signed by President
George H.W. Bush in 1992.
The Toledo Buffalo Soldiers
adopted Wilson Park a number of years ago and through
partnerships with private sector and government had made it
possible for the pool to opened, and the shelter house to
once again be accessible to the park advisory board and the
public.
Off The Rails food truck was
on hand providing burgers and brats for the celebration, and
TBS will made a check presentation to the Wilson Park
Advisory Board. Festivities were from Noon-3pm.
