North Central District Awards and Recognitions for the Toledo Club 

 

The National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women Adult and Youth Clubs attended the 54th Annual North Central District Leadership Conference in Lansing, Michigan on Thursday May 16 thru Sunday May 19, 2019 at the Ramada by Wyndam Lansing Hotel and Conference Center. The theme was: Determined to Succeed with Excellence, A tribute to "Girl Power" of our District Governor, LaTaunya V. Conley, PhD.  

 

The Toledo Club participated in the "Pearls, Pumps and Purses Community Service Project, President and First Vice President Leadership Academy,  Membership Training, Financial Training,  Governor's Forum, workshops and other training. 

 

The Toledo Clubs (adult and youth) and the Maumee Bay Club sponsored Samuel Spencer, a baritone, who came in second place in the Vocal Arts Competition. 

 

The NANBPWC INC. -Toledo Adult and Youth Clubs were recognized at the NCD Conference in the following categories.:

 

Adult Club Awards:

For Leadership:

President - Frances Collins, PhD 

Program Showcase for Women's History Powerpoint Presentation,

Program Showcase Powerpoint for Technology, 

Membership Award

 

Youth Awards: 

Program Showcase Powerpoint presentation

Leadership Award for Youth Club President -Jordan Collins ,

Membership Award

 

NCD Leadership Positions:

Frances Collins - National Education Committee

Denise Black-Poon - NCD Protocol Chair

Alexii Collins - NCD Youth Leader

Barbara Tucker- NCD Parliamentarian and former NCD Governor 

 

Toledo Club President Frances Collins is also the NCD Education Chair. She announced that the 2019 James Coleman scholarship recipient is Trinity Bester, a senior at Jesup W. Scott High School.  

 

The Toledo Adult and Youth Club also received a certificate of attendance . 

 

Youth Club President, Jordan Collins, served as master of ceremony at the Youth Breakfast and Jada Collins introduced the judges for the Essay and Oratorical Contests.
