A.N.G.E.L.S. Outreach Program Honors TPD Chief Kral For
Ongoing Service
The A.N.G.E.L.S. Outreach Program, a Toledo-area nonprofit
organization that brings community members together to help
neighbors in need during the holidays, celebrated 23 years
of service on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018 at Tamaron Country
Club. One hundred percent of the proceeds generated from the
"Sweet Jazz & Wine" fundraiser went toward providing food
baskets to area neighbors in need during Thanksgiving and
Christmas and Easter.
Founded by Lisa Canales in 1995, the exclusively
volunteer-run organization has served thousands of families
throughout the community over the years – a monumental
effort that has received support from many, including Toledo
Police Chief George Kral, who was honored at this year's
event.

"Chief Kral has been with us, side-by-side with us, for as
long as I can remember," said Canales. "Not only has he
provided resources and ongoing support, he has helped our
baskets to their final destinations. Chief Kral truly
understands that our efforts go far beyond a simple meal for
a family in need. Our hope is that this simple meal will
bring families to the dinner table to talk, to listen, to be
together, to renew their commitment to each other, to find
strength and lean on their faith. Our mission is to build
stronger families and stronger communities simply by being
good neighbors."
Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz was on hand to help present
Chief Kral with this year's award, which honored his ongoing
support for the organization. |
