Democratic Women in Action’s Charity Golf Tournament
Perfect weather, an
abundance of raffle tickets and great food greeted the 61
golfers who hit the links on Saturday, August 5, in a
tournament hosted by the Democratic Women in Action at the
South Toledo Golf Club on Heatherdowns.
The golf tournament, the
second one organized by the club, is a way for the
organization to raise funds for some of their pet projects –
most notably the YWCA of Greater Toledo’s battered women’s
shelter. The DWIA has had a close relationship with the YWCA
since the formation of the club five years ago and the
tournament is a way to further increase their goal of
assisting women in need.
