Prayer for Ted Nugent
One God of us all, You
know me completely, yet you love me. By your grace and
mercy I have been inspired to bless my fellow men and women
and not to curse them. As this thought moves on my heart, I
would like to pray especially for one of your creation, Ted
Nugent. Now, Lord, I can’t determine whether Ted will be a
visitor or performer in our city and county, but I know in
You all things are possible.
Compassionate God, I ask
for guidance in my prayer for Ted, that he might be inspired
by the Spirit to repent of his rebellion and move away from
his hateful vitriol and recrimination toward others and
allow through your Spirit to seek reconciliation and
understanding among his fellow men and women.
Lord, should he repent of
the hatred and fear that has kept him bound in this
bottomless pit, may You grant him a new sense of freedom and
emancipation that can only be found in You.
Merciful One let him know
that we as a people cannot live our lives in isolation from
one another. You have taught us, through the sacrifice of
Your Son, that life is made up of relationships, and
relationships are created by choice.
For Lord, we know this to
be true concerning dollars; it is also true concerning
energy, effort, time, and spiritual enlightenment.
As it was recorded in Holy
Scripture, Samuel 16:23, whenever the psalmist David played
the harp, the spirit tormenting Saul would go away. Dear
Father, should you be pleased to touch the heart and then
the music and talents of a repentant Ted Nugent, let these
same gifts be instruments to remove that same tormenting
spirit and evil from those who hear him.
Then Ted may say, “Lord,
what will thou have me to do? This is my expression of a
surrendered heart.”
In the name of Jesus the
Christ,
Amen.
