Lourdes University Appoints new Director of Human Resources: Chantell Cargile

Lourdes University President Mary Ann Gawelek is pleased to announce the appointment of Chantell Cargile, MBA, Lourdes University's new Director of Human Resources. In this position, Cargile will create, develop, implement and coordinate human resources policies, procedures and programs. Cargile will also work closely with the Manager of Organizational Equity on recruiting and onboarding new hires. She assumed her duties on September 21.


Bringing several years of human resources and project management experience to this position, Cargile most recently served as the Human Resources Manager for Root Inc., a brand strategy firm in Sylvania, OH. In this position, she supported strategic initiatives through the design, development and implementation of a new human resource information system (HRIS). In addition to leading and recommending employee relations, compensation, and plan design strategies.

Prior to her appointment at Root Inc., Cargile worked with Owens Corning supporting various functions within Human Resources including recruitment, university relations, total rewards, and compensation.
In addition to her expertise in Human Resource Management, Cargile is also knowledgeable in Unconscious Bias and Diversity & Inclusion. During her tenure with Owens Corning she created and led committees and trainings such as the African American Resource Group, the Unconscious Bias Company Initiative and the Diversity Leadership Summit.

Cargile earned a Master of Business Administration in Human Resource Management from Tiffin University and a Bachelor of Science in International Business from the University of Akron.
