TPS
Foundation Names New Executive Director
Special to The Truth
The Toledo Public Schools Foundation has
named Erica Halada as its new executive director. She will
be responsible for directing a comprehensive fundraising
program for the Foundation, manage its ongoing charitable
activities, and engage with community and school leaders to
raise the profile of the Foundation in the Toledo community.
Halada brings seven years of diverse
fundraising experience to the position – most recently with
ProMedica Health System’s Philanthropy Division as executive
director of the Bay Park Hospital Foundation. She previously
was a development officer at United Way of Greater Toledo.
She was one of the founders of the Emerging
Leaders program at United Way and a member of the Leadership
Toledo Class of 2016. She is a member of EPIC and the
Association of Fundraising Professionals, and serves as a
board of trustee with Leadership Toledo. Halada holds a
Bachelor of Science in Communication and Business from
Eastern Michigan University.
The TPS Foundation has operated for more than
25 years as a 501©(3) charitable organization that provides
private funding for scholarships as well as programs that
enhance teaching and learning in TPS schools.
Since January, a number of community,
business and school leaders have been working to expand the
vision of the organization. Focus areas include student
scholarships, teacher grants, expanding support to enroll
more children in pre-K education and providing assistance to
individual schools for enrichment and capital projects.
Halada reports to the Foundation board of
directors and coordinates both development and charitable
activities with TPS Superintendent Romules Durant, EdD, and
his administrative staff.
