Toledo area youth and their families participated in free
health and education activities, including: tennis,
basketball, archery, golf, swimming, horseback riding,
boxing, free age-appropriate books, boxing and more. The
event provided free lunch and shirt to attendees.
“My son and I enjoy attending each year, great father and
son time,” said Timothy Smith.
This annual festival is organized by Toledo District 1 City
Councilman Tyrone Riley and event Chairperson Ethel Parker,
and was able to provide over 150 free bikes and helmets to
youth through a free raffle due to generous sponsors.
“The committee and I are pleased with this year’s turn out.
It’s exciting to see our youth enjoying the park. One of our
newest program additions was boxing and the year before that
was archery. This event is about and for our children, we
know the partnerships will grow each year. I personally used
to spend eight hours per day in this park as a kid, and
that’s one of the reasons why I wanted it here,” explained
Riley.
