“I’m always proud to have the opportunity to recognize
Toledo’s youth for their outstanding achievements,” said
Ashford. “Mr. Jones is a proven leader and is well-deserving
of this high and prestigious honor. I cannot wait to see
what he accomplishes in the future.”
As the Ohio Youth of the Year,
Jones will receive a $5,000 college scholarship from the
Boys and Girls Clubs of America and serve as an ambassador
for all teens in the state of Ohio.
Jones has chosen to attend
Grambling State University, where he will pursue a degree in
biology and play baseball. His long-term goal is to start
his own sports medicine company.
