Scott High School Summer Activities and Events

Events-

June 7, 2014- noon-4pm

·         Scott High School Community Bash (During the Old West End Festival!)

o    Food, Games, Face painting, bounce houses, dunk tank, DJ

o    The JAMM, live jazz on the lawn at 2pm

June 18, 2014- 3:30p-5:30pm

·         The CARE Team

o    Mobile resources, benefits and food giveaway.

o    Free cell phones for qualified individuals

o    Enter through door #20 in rear of the building

Programs-

June 9-20, 2014- 9a-3p

·         Camp Fundamentals

o    Academic enrichment with a focus on FUN

o    Lunch provided

o    The program is FREE but you MUST BE REGISTERED. Space is limited Call 419.671.4000 to register

June 6-20, 2014- 8:00-1:30pm

·         S.T.R.I.V.E.

o    Parents if you are concerned about your child's ability to pass all parts of the required Ohio Graduation Test (OGT), the STRIVE Tutorial Summer Program may be the answer.

The program is designed to prepare students in Math, Science, Social Studies, Reading or Writing enrichment with instruction for up to two OGT subjects. It also includes anti-drug education conducted by Toledo Police Officers. The classes will be held Friday June 6, 2014 through Friday June 20, 2014 from 8:00 am - 1:30 pm daily.

If you are interested in the program, please contact Officer Wormely at (419) 245-1367. Due to limited class sizes, children must be registered and registration Fee ($35) received by June 4, 2014. Registration forms are available at your TPS school counselor or the Ottawa Park Police Substation 2145 N. Cove.

Daily Throughout the Summer

·         Open lunch site

o    Any child between the ages of 5-18 can drop in and eat lunch at Scott during the summer

o    Not limited to Scott High School Students

o    Daily throughout summer

Adult Opportunities

·         Monday & Wednesday- Penta County Career Center GED Classes 1-3p. Call 419.661.6555 to register

·         Tuesday- Financial Opportunity Center- Mobile Benefits Counselor 10-2p. Call 419.671.4000 for information

·         Thursday- Knitting Club- Noon-2p
