Lucas County Job and Family Services announces the extension of SNAP benefits

TOLEDO, OH – Lucas County Job and Family Services is announcing that Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients in Lucas County will continue to receive their benefits without interruption through May, effective Tuesday, March 24.

The extension of the federally-funded SNAP benefits will allow current recipients to continue receiving benefits without going through the Job and Family Services recertification process for six months.

Also, SNAP recipients who are subject to work requirements will not have to complete those hours until the month following the expiration of the governor-declared state emergency.

The re-determination phone line has been closed because re-determination is not necessary at this time. SNAP recipients are asked to call 1-844-640-6446 or use benefits.ohio.gov to check the status of their case or if they have specific questions related to a non-SNAP case.
