Twenty attendees enjoyed games, socializing, music and the
food that was prepared by Ruby’s Kitchen. “I first visited
the senior center seven years ago when my sister brought me,
and I’ve been coming ever since. I love it here, it’s a
wonderful place to socialize with people that are my age.
This is a great place for seniors,” explained Cynthia
Harrison.
The evening concluded with the certificate of appreciation
presented by NHA to seven seniors for their service to the
center and community. The recipients were: Prentiss
Anderson, Delbert Duckins, Victory Perry, Luther Reasonover,
Margaret Toodvin, James Williams and Walter Woodson.
“We wanted to offer extended hours and provide a way to
celebrates Dr. King’s memory. We have so many seniors that
contribute to the community and this center,” explained
Tonda Wiles Koszycki, NHA manager of senior services.
J. Frank Troy Senior Center is located at 545 Indiana Ave in
Toledo and operates weekdays from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
