Top Ladies, Top Teens Partner with March of Dimes for Health Fair

The Top Ladies of Distinction Inc, (TLOD) and Top Teens of America (TTA) -Toledo Chapters collaborated with St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church Health Fair that was held on Saturday, November 23, 2019.

This Health Fair shared information on helping senior citizens with tips on staying healthy. ABC Health Care was on hand to also give blood pressure screenings and health checks.

Holiday baskets were collected from church members, Top Ladies of Distinction and Top Teens of America and distributed to senior residents in the Toledo community.

March of Dimes partnered with its National Service Partner, Top Ladies of Distinction & Top Teens of America for this health fair. March of Dimes' mission is leading the fight for the health of all moms and babies. There is an urgent health crisis in this country around prematurity and infant and maternal mortality and unfortunately black women are much more likely to experience this fate than any other race.

It is completely unacceptable for black babies and mothers to die at such a high rate. Equity is something March of Dimes passionately advocates for and works towards for every woman and family, and that is why its partnership with organizations like Top Ladies of Distinction is so critically important.

The ladies are philanthropic and connected in their communities and it is through their service that March of Dimes is able to connect as many women in their community as possible with resources so they can have a healthy pregnancy as well as having a platform for them to have a voice, to share their experience and to represent themselves and their story in a world that too often tries to silence.

March of Dimes is a resource around all matters related to pregnancy and parenthood, especially for anyone trying to get pregnant, currently pregnant or who has experienced miscarriage, infant loss, pregnancy complications or premature birth.

If anyone would like more information about getting involved with the local efforts around volunteering and raising money and awareness for this urgent health crisis, please contact Paige Reyes, Senior Development Manager, at preyes@marchofdimes.org at or 567-277-8022.
