State Rep. Paula
Hicks-Hudson (D-Toledo) last week announced the release of
$59,957.80 in state funds to support the University of
Toledo workforce based training and equipment project.
"These funds will help train
students for jobs in emerging, high demand fields and link
area businesses with highly trained candidates," said Rep.
Hicks-Hudson. "Investing in workforce development is crucial
for workers and businesses alike to continue to grow and
compete in an ever-changing economy."
The University of Toledo
Workforce Based Training & Equipment project supports the
education and skill training of students and workers to meet
current and future needs of growing, emerging, and high
demand industries. The funding provided will be used for
equipment that will support regional workforce and
educational objectives including the automotive, aerospace,
