Former Toledoan Appointed Chief of Staff at Tucson Medical Center

This month, former Toledo and Maumee resident Dr. Gayle Alaine Dean, M.D., has been selected as the new chief of staff at The Tucson (Arizona) Medical Center. "Dr. Dean is the first African American to have this position in Tucson.

A graduate of Maumee High School of 1988, Dr. Dean completed her undergraduate studies at The University of Toledo. She received her medical degree from The University of Cincinnati School of Medicine. She is an obstetrician-gynecologist in Tucson and is affiliated with TMC Healthcare-Tucson. She will continue to see her patients.

Dr. Dean is a member of the Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church. She is the daughter of Pamela and Dwight Dean and the wife of Maurice Johnson.
