New Girl Friends Join The Girl Friends in a Weekend

The members of the Toledo
Chapter of The Girl Friends, Inc. welcomed six new girl
friends into the chapter on Saturday, November 10 during a
new member installation ceremony at the Radisson Hotel on
the campus of the University of Toledo Medical Center.
The new Girl Friends
pledged to adhere to the highest social standards, to act in
a manner that will reflect credit on their character, to be
broadly national in scope and to make the name Girl Friends
stand for dignity, service, graciousness and conviviality.
The ceremony consisted of
a series of events including an explanation of the
obligation of friendship by Edgar Guest; a rededication
ceremony involving candle lighting and taking the pledge.

This past weekend
inductees were Treva Jeffries, the executive director of
Equity, Diversity and Inclusion for the Toledo Public
Schools; Kimberly Highsmith, also with Toledo Public Schools
working with children with special needs; Mary Enenmoh, who
recently relocated to the Toledo area with her family;
Tiffany Dunlap, an intervention specialist with TPS and a
volunteer advocate for the Board of Developmental
Disabilities for Lucas County; Asja Wynn, a registered nurse
working with elderly Medicare recipients and Demetria
Simpson, president and CEO with Lucas Metropolitan Housing
Authority.
The Toledo Chapter of the
Girl Friends, Inc was founded 58 years ago and consists of
nearly three dozen members.
