New Girl Friends Join The Girl Friends in a Weekend Installation Ceremony

Sojourner’s Truth Staff

The members of the Toledo Chapter of The Girl Friends, Inc. welcomed six new girl friends into the chapter on Saturday, November 10 during a new member installation ceremony at the Radisson Hotel on the campus of the University of Toledo Medical Center.

The new Girl Friends pledged to adhere to the highest social standards, to act in a manner that will reflect credit on their character, to be broadly national in scope and to make the name Girl Friends stand for dignity, service, graciousness and conviviality.

The ceremony consisted of a series of events including an explanation of the obligation of friendship by Edgar Guest; a rededication ceremony involving candle lighting and taking the pledge.
