Special to The Truth
On Saturday, June 30 Groomed for Greatness and Inspire 2
Be Mentoring partnered up for the Girl InPowerment Summit

University of Toledo Recreation Center. The event was
moderated by fitness guru Erika White and included an array

audience of young ladies ages 8-17.
State basketball championship Lady Rams
Zia Cook and Diamond Ezell started the summit by sharing
their life journeys and speaking about what it means to be
unstoppable.
The day proceeded with young ladies
ages eight-to-11 learning about the importance of having

Founder of Groomed for Greatness, Michelle McCaster, shared
that: "Investing in girls is one of the smartest things we
can do to promote a healthier, more prosperous world. More
importantly, it’s the right thing to do. Every girl has a
right to be in charge of her future and her fate, and we
have the collective obligation of helping them to reach
their goals and become productive members of society. We
tried to put together a summit that would allow girls to be
in power of their future as well as provide them with the
resources and individuals who could help them to reach their
personal goals. We also wanted instill professionalism and
respect.

“Michelle Obama is my SHERO and if there were anyone I would
have girls model themselves after, if would be her.
“She is intelligent, poised, a phenomenal community advocate
and philanthropist and she does show that the negative
comments people and the media say about her bother her. It
takes a strong village of strong women to insure that girls
are equipped and have the foresight to crush barrier. They
also need the tools for success and encouragement to know
that whatever path they chose to navigate, we are here to
guide them.”
Groomed for Greatness plans to make this an annual event to
include more dynamic speakers, empower girls and help them
reach their highest potentials.
