Ashford Honors Area Office on Aging of Northwest Ohio
President Billie Johnson
State Representative Michael Ashford (D-Toledo) last week
honored Area Office of Aging of Northwest Ohio’s President
and CEO Billie Johnson with House Resolution (HR) 276.
Earlier this year Johnson received the 2017 President’s
Award from the National Association of Area Agencies on
Aging, the most prestigious award the organization gives
during its national conference in Savannah, Georgia.

“The work Billie Johnson has done for older residents here
in Northwest Ohio is outstanding and worthy of recognition,”
said Ashford. “Her passion, commitment and dedication to
making a difference is appreciated by many.”
As president and CEO, Johnson helped grow the local office
in Northwest Ohio from just a few employees to over 100
employees with an annual budget of $32 million, which serves
the needs of more than 40,000 seniors in Northwest Ohio.
