First Federal Bank Partners with the Toledo Zoo and Toledo
Public Schools for Natural Science Education Program

First Federal Bank announced Sunday, September 27 a $5,000
commitment to bring natural science education programs to
the Toledo Public Schools.
The bank will fund “Zooper Challenges” offered by Toledo Zoo
is designed for grades K-8, to educate students on animals
and their needs. This program will be given for students at
Spring, Rosa Parks l, Robinson, Old Orchard, Harvard,
McTigue l, Keyser and McKinley Elementary Schools as well as
East Broadway Middle School.

in bringing the exciting world of natural science into our
elementary classrooms with the Zooper Challenge,” said
Thomas Dimitrew, Director, Agriculture, Construction, &
Engineering Technology at Toledo Public Schools. The Toledo
Zoo and its staff are invaluable community resources for
instilling a love of the natural world within our young
people, while also making them aware of the unique
opportunities for further study available to them at the zoo
and the TPS Natural Science Technology Center. With a
growing national demand for professionals in both plant and
animal-related careers, this exciting partnership reflects
an ideal pairing of school and community resources, thanks
to the generous support of First Federal Bank,” said
