Toledo Urban Celebrates Success; Honors Those Who Have

Saturday, November 22, was
a night to celebrate! A night to celebrate the progress
Toledo Urban Federal Credit Union has made over the past
three years; a night to celebrate a few of those who have
helped the credit union over the past 18 years.

Over 400 guests joined the
staff and the board of directors at the annual Toledo Urban
Federal Credit Union’s Appreciation Banquet at The Pinnacle
in that celebration.
And what an event it was!
Dinner, commemorative gifts, acknowledgements and, as a
special treat, listening and dancing to the music of The
Dramatics.
Suzette Cowell, CEO and
treasurer of the credit union for all of these 18 years, and
her staff acknowledged the efforts and assistance of
honorees Laurie Cantrell of the Toledo-Lucas County Port
Authority; Russell Chapman, longtime TUFCU member and
volunteer, Shanda Gore, Ed.D, of The University of Toledo;
Patricia Hogue, Ph.D, of UT; John Moore, retired banker;
Michael Mori of The Blade; Calvin Powell of Powell’s Beauty
& Barber Supply; Henrietta Powell, longtime TUFCU member and
volunteer; Mary Hawkins, longtime member and volunteer;
Tyrone Tyson, longtime member and volunteer; Barb and Rodney
Williamson, members and volunteers and Lynn Zeitler of Yark
Automotive Group.
The evening’s mistress of
ceremony was Doni Miller, CEO of Neighborhood Health
Association, Bishop Brehon Hall offered the opening prayer,
Amanda Clark provided musical solos and Rev. Cedric Brock
delivered the invocation.
