Forfeited Land Sale to Be Held December 10
Approximately 444 Parcels for Sale
The 2014 Annual Forfeited Land Sale will be held Wednesday,
December 10, according to Anita Lopez, Lucas County
Auditor. Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the sale
will commence at 10:00 a.m. in the Commissioner’s Hearing
Room, located on the first floor of One Government Center.
Due to limited seating, only the first 160 registrants will
be admitted on a first come, first serve basis.
There will be approximately 444 parcels for sale and the
bidding begins (per O.R.C. sec 5721.16) at the lesser of (1)
fair market value, or (2) the total amount of taxes owed,
per parcel. A successful bidder must have a deposit of 50
percent or $300, whichever is greater. If a bid is $300 or
less, the purchase price must be paid in full. All bids or
sales will be required to pay additional fees of $74.00

are accepted.
The parcels of real estate being sold are tax delinquent,
and have been offered for sale twice by the County Sheriff.
Lopez urges anyone interested in purchasing property at the
Forfeited Land Sale to research the property being sold.
The County Auditor’s Office provides no guarantees regarding
