Neighborhood Center, is committed to providing a helping
hand to those in need struggling in these difficult economic
times. Clara Petty is the executive director.
Every Wednesday, The Bridges, a cozy house
behind the Monroe Methodist Church opens its doors to those
seeking assistance. When they leave, they have groceries,
an assortment of clothing items, a blood-pressure check and
an increased sense of pride. Members of all three partnering
organizations contributed suits, sweaters, shoes, various
accessories and a wide variety of foods that included
pastas, soups, vegetables and fruits.
The Community Partnerships Committee of Top
Ladies of Distinction, Inc. spearheaded the project.
